NFL Draft Day is one of the most exciting dates on the football calendar. It’s a day of anticipation and optimism, where fans of every team can look forward to a fresh season with new players and a new sense of hope for the future. Well, maybe not Raiders fans, but you get what I’m saying. This year, Xbox One owners will be able to watch, follow and interact with the draft in ways they’ve never been able to before.

From May 8 to May 10, The NFL app on Xbox One will grant Xbox Live Gold members unprecedented access to the 2014 NFL Draft according to Xbox Wire. Not only will the entire event be broadcast on the popular app, it will allow users to receive real-time updates on the draft while using other apps or games. The Draft Tracker feature will update users with every pick. With the NFL app snapped on screen, NFL fans can follow the draft with new picks, draft order and team needs while playing Madden, Skyping with friends or watching the NBA Playoffs. In addition, fans can access highlight videos for each pick, familiarizing themselves with stars of the future like Jadaveon Clowney and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (yeah, that’s a real name).

Full draft coverage starts May 8, but the NFL app is already in draft mode. The all-new draft channel offers in-depth analysis of every team and all the top draft prospects with highlight videos and team breakdowns by the NFL’s Network’s expert crew. It’s a great pre-draft resource for fans who want all the info on the league’s next crop of young stars, and the amount of insightful video content is pretty impressive.
