Nikki Sixx Explains “This Is Gonna Hurt”

  It's not like Nikki Sixx gets a thrill out of seeing freaks and weirdos. He's just trying to connect to his sister.

 Sixx's latest book is called "This Is Gonna Hurt," and it's full of photos of amputees, drug addicts and those with odd medical conditions.

 Sixx's sister was wheelchair-bound with deformities and died in an institution. Sixx says that's why he has photos of wheelchairs and collects medical supplies from the 1800s.

He says it sounds macabre but it's a subconscious way to relate to his sister. He says the people in his book are more fortunate because they have insight to life that the rest of us don't have.

The book and a companion CD are out now.
