You probably have an alarm to protect you from potential burglary.  if you think you don't, you probably do and it's sitting in your garage or parked in your driveway.

This is a great idea that falls squarely into the 'why didn't I think of this sooner' category.

Neighborhood Watch experts say just putting your car keys by your bed could help ward off intruders.  At the first noise of something wrong, you can hit the panic button on your remote.

The remote works in my farthest bedroom all the way upstairs.  Yours probably works, too.  A loud noise that won't go away unless you turn the alarm off.  In fact, your car will die before the alarm will.

That blaring alarm will scare off someone trying to break in and even if it doesn't, your neighbors will probably call the police (if for no other reason than to get them to shut off the noise).

The next time you come home for the night and start to put your keys away, put them on your bedside table instead.
