This past Friday, the 2014 Grammy nominations were announced, and Black Sabbath received nods in three categories: Best Rock Album (’13′), Best Metal Performance (‘God Is Dead?’) and Best Rock Song (‘God Is Dead?). Now, singer Ozzy Osbourne has responded to the good news.

In a very brief statement, Ozzy said, “We are ecstatic, surprised and very happy!” Sabbath won the Best Metal Performance Grammy back in 2000 for 'Iron Man (Live),' and seem to be a a great position to add some more hardware to their mantles.

The nominations were the cherry on top of a very successful 2013 that saw the release of the critically acclaimed album '13' and sold-out tours worldwide. In a new interview with the UK's Independent, Osbourne and guitarist Tony Iommi talked about the whirlwind year, including '13' climbing to the top of both the UK and U.S. charts.

“It’s been phenomenal,” says Osbourne. “Too much for me to grasp.” The band has been mixing in the new material with their classic songs during live shows, which Osbourne likes.

“I kept my vocal pitching [on the album] down to a level that I can sing live,” reveals Osbourne. “You can do so much trickery in the studio, but when you go onstage it’s impossible to reproduce every night. It’s a mistake I’ve made a lot in the past.”

With the massive success of '13,' fans would love to see another album from Sabbath. But will it happen? “We’re very pleased with the album,” Iommi says. “Though if it does turn out to be our last, then it’s a great way to go.”
