Phil Anselmo, Scott Ian + Mike Muir Get Animated in Delicious Video ‘Cooking Hostile’
Want a double shot of metal hilarity? Check out the first full episode of 'Cooking Hostile,' an online animated clip that takes Pantera / Down legend Phil Anselmo and sticks him into the world of culinary arts. Along with Anthrax's Scott Ian and Suicidal Tendencies' Mike Muir, Phil Anselmo's music is re-invented with hit after hit of food-based parody.
This video was actually created by Joey Siler of Good Friends and A Bottle of Whisky, a Pantera tribute band out of Gainesville, Fla. The group uploaded 'Cooking Hostile with Phil Anselmo!' onto YouTube in June, planting the seed for what would become Episode 1 of the idea. Having seen the initial two-and-a-half minute clip, Anselmo actually declared himself as a fan of the video during an interview with ETHOS. "Whoever did it is f---ing hilarious," raves Anselmo. "It's fantastic and I give him two gigantic thumbs up because it is fuuuuuuny. I love it."
Philip H. Anselmo is bound to enjoy 'Cooking Hostile - Episode 1' as well, which clocks in at well over 10 minutes. Pantera classics such as 'F---ing Hostile,' 'Walk' and 'The Great Southern Trendkill' are lovingly lampooned to go along with the episode's culinary storyline, with a bit of added humor added in from other characters as well. The clip also makes the very solid argument that 'Cooking with Anthrax' isn't the best idea, despite the insistence of an animated Scott Ian. Mike Muir also gets his own failed cooking show in which he makes a 'Suicidal Soufflé.' Once again, not the best idea.
If you want to see Phil Anselmo whip up some grub, raid a grocery store, fight an elderly woman with chainsaws 'Mortal Kombat'-style and kill a dude in a diner, check out 'Cooking Hostile - Episode One.'
