Pussy Riot was attacked at the Olympics by members of the Russian security, Cossack militia. The band was attempting to perform a protest song or performance in front of a Sochi Winter games sign and that's when they were brutally attacked by security forces using whips and batons.

Pussy Riot are a Russian feminist punk band from Moscow that became famous a few years ago when they were arrested and imprisoned for performing at an anti-Putin protest. The incident made international headlines and brought unwanted attention to Russia's treatment of women and political corruption.
