It's going to be a little bit harder to win a Grammy, because fewer will be given out next year. The Recording Academy doesn't like calling it "cutting," but "restructuring."

This year there were Grammys given in 109 categories, but next year, it will be 78. Instead of seven pop awards, it will now be four.

Male and female pop vocal performance will now be "Pop Solo Performance," the pop collaboration with vocal is dropped and the two instrumental categories are now one.

The rock solo vocal, rock group vocal and rock instrumental are now combined into "Best Rock Performance." Heavy metal and hard rock are now combined.

The big awards -- album, record and song of the year, and best new artist -- are unchanged.
