Red Hot Chili Peppers are back rocking after a brief break from the stage following a recent Anthony Kieidis intestinal ailment. After having to cancel a couple of shows last week when Kiedis was admitted to the hospital experiencing extreme stomach pains, the band returned to the stage over the weekend at the Rock on the Range Festival in Columbus, Ohio.

The band played a 15-song set highlighted by the first live performance of their current single "Dark Necessities," which came four songs into their set. You can see fan-shot video of the performance above. The body of the Rock on the Range show was filled with hits like the show-opening "Can't Stop," "Dani California," (seen below) "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie," their cover of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground," "Under the Bridge," "Californication" and "By the Way." Meanwhile, the band finished out the night with "Around the World" and "Give It Away," all while Kiedis remained his normal energetic self.

Last week, Kiedis spoke to ET Canada about his disappointment at having to cancel shows, something the band doesn't normally do. "I’d rather play deathly ill than not at all but in this particular instance I was starting to go down to the ground. I got some help and now I’ve got to figure things out," said Kiedis, who added that the intestinal flu was exacerbated by a recent virus he contracted along with scar tissue from a hernia operation. "That becomes an incredibly painful situation where you get a fever and pass out," concluded the vocalist.

With Rock on the Range out of the way, the band will resume their touring, with the Napa Valley, Calif. BottleRock festival next on the schedule for May 29. See all of their upcoming dates here.
