We haven't seen flashlight mechanics this ridiculous in a survival horror game since Alan Wake.

Thanks to Gematsu, we have found these Resident Evil Revelations 2 gameplay videos. Watch as Claire and Moira showcase some of the game's tag team mechanics. It looks as though the player will be able to switch between the two heroines on the fly. Obviously, most players would prefer to play as Claire due to her having firearms and Moira refusing to use them (perhaps her father, Barry Burton, was gunned down somehow). For some reason, the monsters in Revelations 2 are easily stunned when Moira shines her flashlight at them. There better be an explanation as to these monsters' increased photosensitivity -- it's kind of silly to just aim a flashlight at a hulking monster just for it to stand there stunned for 10 seconds afterwards.

We must also comment on the now cliche use of having a bloody red frame appear around the screen whenever your character has a significant amount of damage. Survival horror games and even first-person shooters have used similar methods of displaying damage way too often throughout the past few years. This is Resident Evil, there should just be a sporadic EKG monitor or something that appears on the screen and just have an increased heartbeat noise to show that your character is on the verge of death.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 will debut for PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One sometime in 2015.

Using a flashlight as a weapon? Yup, that's creepy:
