There was a six year gap between 's latest album 'Redeemer of Souls' and their previous disc 'Nostradamus.' It looks like fans won't have to wait as long for a follow-up.

Frontman Rob Halford talked about the band's future on a recent appearance on the 'Trunk Nation' radio show with Eddie Trunk (via Blabbermouth), saying "I go into the dressing room every night [during the current North American tour], and [guitarist] Richie's [Faulkner] jamming; that guy never stops playing his guitar. And I walk in, and I go, 'What are you playing now?' [And he says] 'I don't know.' [And I tell him] 'Put that down in your iPhone right now.'"

Halford continues, "And he gets his iPhone and puts it down. He's been doing that all the way through the 'Redeemer of Souls' tour. So what I'm saying is the riffs are already piling up, the ideas are already piling up. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to make a Judas Priest record. So that's where we roll at the moment."

'Redeemer of Souls' is Priest's highest charting album ever in North America, landing at No. 6 when it was released in July. The band's current North American tour (see our recap and photos from the Brooklyn show here) and wraps up Nov. 22 in Tacoma, Wash.
