As the Rogue One trailers keep rolling out, they get increasingly more Darth Vader-y. In the first few, we had that shot of the back of his helmet. Then, in the next couple, a new shot of him talking to Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Krennic. Now, the most recent international trailer actually starts off with his “Imperial March” theme and includes a short soundbite of that chilling breathing noise.

It’s no secret now that Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is the daughter of the man who engineered the Death Star, but there’s still a large gap in time from when we see her as a child bidding her father farewell, and now, when she appears to have become some sort of ne’er-do-well before the Rebellion finds her. And also, what’s that shard of something that her mother gives her to wear around her neck?

We also get some awesome shots of the Death Star itself looming above an unsuspecting planet, before it appears the team of rebels gets caught in the actual weapons test. This movie looks like it’s really going to give a sense of ominous scale to the Death Star, and what it means to the people on the surface of a planet to see that thing come floating over the horizon to block out the sun. We already know that Jyn’s team succeeds in getting the plans, so Rogue One really needs to find a way to give the story a sense of dire urgency despite our prior knowledge of the ending. In this trailer, that urgency plays loud and clear. May the Force be with us.

Rogue One opens in theaters December 16.
