LAWTON (March 23, 2015) - The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Lawton/Fort Sill is kicking off their 5th Annual Adopt-A-Child campaign. The fundraising campaign was created to ensure as many boys and girls as possible have a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for children and youth to learn, grow, and develop as responsible members of our community.

Lt. Israel Roseno states "We are pleased to be in the 5th year of what has become an annual campaign. The Adopt-A-Child program creates sponsorship opportunities for individuals, families and businesses to help provide a child the opportunity to wonderful, life changing programs."

The Club offers an avenue for children and youth to build leadership skills, participate in numerous activities and learn positive life skills. It also provides a sense of belonging as well as tools to make positive choices. Research shows that Boys & Girls Clubs plays a key role in reducing delinquency, increasing academic achievement, and improves attitude toward school. It achieves impact through fun activities, a safe and supportive environment, increased opportunities to learn and develop, and recognition of achievements.

The goal for the campaign is to sponsor 150 children annually at the cost of $300 per year or $45,000. With your Annual Child Sponsorship, The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club delivers an excellent return on investment in the lives of our community's children. For more information, please contact Lt. Israel Roseno at 355-1802 or Christal Durham at 357-754
