Sony posted this Playstation commercial to their official YouTube channel on (11-21-14) then quickly took it down after receiving complaints about the sexual overtones and innuendos. The add was to promote their remote play PS-VITA that allows players to game on many different devices, anywhere and anytime. While funny and somewhat creative the video offended many by it's masturbation references and crude humor.

How this made it past the suits is beyond me and I'm sure someone, if not several people are seeking employment over the matter. While I'm certainly not offended by the video or it's sexual references I'm sure some are. I thought it was hilarious, but then again I'm kind of the targeted consumer for this type of advertising. Male and a gamer. The thing is for years gamers have been stereotyped and gaming in general has suffered from the "It's a guy thing" mentality.

Far from it, women are and have always been a part of the gaming world. More so now than ever. The popularity of gaming has crossed both age and gender barriers. We're not all geeks stuck in our mom's basement, or prepubescent boys who can't get dates. There are as many different types of gamers as there are games. So when a major player like Sony cheapens this and sleazes up the image of gaming and gamers it can negatively impact the entire industry and community.
