Sixx: A.M. Seek to Make Global Impact With #ReasonToRise Campaign

By now most people have heard Sixx: A.M.'s motivational new single "Rise," which is rapidly climbing the rock charts. The track is an uplifting kick in the pants, spurring the listener into action. To help drive home the point, the band has started the #ReasonToRise campaign.

Sixx: A.M. have been making the promotional rounds in support of their new album and single, with Nikki Sixx chatting on CNN and the trio sharing their thoughts on Global News. As can be seen in the video above, they've shared the message of the song, which is to encourage people to take in their surroundings, see the injustices around them and take a stand over what is troubling them.

"When you think about the Berlin Wall, when it finally came down in '89, that was people rising up," says Sixx, prefacing his message. He adds, "So many people are feeling helpless around heroin epidemics and economic issues and the presidential campaign." "People are so angry and so upset and so scared," singer James Michael says in a separate interview. "And 'Rise' is just talking about this is one of those times where we just need to come together." Meanwhile, guitarist DJ Ashba speaks about the importance of remembering that there can be strength in numbers.

In a statement, Sixx adds, "Throughout history, some of the most dramatic changes have occurred when people reject the status quo and demand change, a sentiment completely encompassed by the musicianship, lyrics, and passion of 'Rise.'"

So Sixx: A.M. are asking fans to watch the video above, then head online to share the clip as well as what makes them want to rise up with the hashtag #ReasonToRise.
