Slash's commitment to the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association found the rocker front and center Saturday night (May 20) for the annual Beastly Ball, a fundraiser put on to help out the L.A. With the zoo celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, it was a special event and Slash brought it for those in attendance with the help of some musical friends.

Among them was Tenacious D vocalist Jack Black who rocked the house with Slash on a cover of Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle." Black did his best Axl, commanding the crowd's attention with his stage moves and power vocals. You can see fan-shot footage from the performance below.

Slash was also assisted during the night by Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band, while Grace Potter and Bernard Fowler also spent time onstage. Songs like "Jungle Boogie," "Papa Was a Rolling Stone," "Can't You Hear Me Knockin," "Born to Be Wild," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Immigrant Song" and "Gimme Shelter" all made the set list for the night.

A portion of the proceeds for this year's event are going to the zoo's new Species Conservation Action Network, which includes having a dedicated Curator of Conservation whose job it will be to identify and respond to urgent animal conservation issues around the world.
