Ultimate Jam Night in Hollywood started as a weekly destination for hard rock and metal musicians to get together to play some of their favorite music, but it has evolved to include the occasional theme show. One of those will happen this coming week as Ultimate Jam Night presents "Metal Has No Color," set to take place this coming Tuesday (April 18) at Hollywood's Whisky-a-Go-Go.

The concert, set to show how rock and metal can unify, will feature the reunion of seminal African American metal band Sound Barrier, who will debut music from their new release that was produced by Prophets of Rage's Tom Morello. Additional artists confirmed for the night include Living Colour's Corey Glover, King's X and KXM leader dUg Pinnick and former God Forbid musician Doc Coyle. In total, the night will feature over 40 musicians of various ethnicities.

For Sound Barrier, the band will be playing their first new music in over 30 years. The lineup of singer Bernie Kimbell, guitarist Tracy "Spacey T" Singleton and bassist Stanley E. will be joined by drummer Eric Valentine, who takes over for late stickman Dave Brown who passed away in 2013.

“These days our nation is more divided than ever,” said Ultimate Jam Night founder Chuck Wright. "States are separated into ‘red’ or ‘blue,' and people are increasingly combative. The idea of being ‘re-accomodated’ shouldn’t exist because individual civility should be cherished,” said Wright. "We believe its high time for people to come together, and music has always held great healing power. We’re proud that Ultimate Jam Night can continue to demonstrate how race and separation can be set aside for common understanding and joy."

As stated, the show will take place April 18 at the Whisky-a-Go-Go and admission to the show is free. For those of you outside of Los Angeles, you can at Zinna TV.
