In a recent interview, Alice Cooper alluded to the difficulty of trying to schedule Hollywood Vampires gigs given the commitments of the band members to their other acts. One of the dominoes has fallen, as Duff McKagan has fallen out of the band's summer touring plans due to his commitments to Guns N' Roses. But the band has found another famous friend to take his place -- Stone Temple Pilots' bassist Robert DeLeo.

DeLeo will join Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp, Matt Sorum, Bruce Witkin and Tommy Henriksen on the road this summer as a majority of the group's North American shows are set to take place in July.

"Here is a gang of friends who came together really by chance and over the last year we were finally able to wrangle our schedules and the energy just fell into place," said Perry in a statement. "Playing with this lineup is like a dream come true. After seeing the reaction at Rock in Rio in front of 100,000 fans, I know this band is going to tear the house down. Hell, I would want to be in the audience to see us rip it up."

DeLeo has some time to tour this summer as Stone Temple Pilots are currently going through the audition process for a new singer. The band opened online submissions earlier this year and recently announced that the process had been closed, that they had sifted through all those entering and were in the midst of inviting those they wished to get a closer look at for additional auditions.

As for Hollywood Vampires, the group also has a handful of European dates booked as well. You can see their North American itinerary here.
