Last night (July 30) the Summer Slaughter tour at the Ritz Theatre in Ybor City, Fla. was evacuated after police were tipped-off about violent threats being made in the venue. One thousand people were evacuated from the building for close to two hours while police investigated.

Blabbermouth.net talked to Job For a Cowboy drummer Jon ‘Charn’ Rice who explained what happened during their set, saying, “Just to clarify the events that happened this evening, a note was passed to the bartender stating that during our set a man with two knives and a gun was going to hurt people. Cops were called and after the proper precautions were taken, the show set off again, albeit a bit behind. No one was hurt and everyone involved is safe.”

After no weapons were found in the club, concert-goers went through a pat down and were allowed back into the show with the delay causing for some shortened sets.

The Summer Slaughter tour continues on through August with Between the Buried and Me and Cannibal Corpse headlining. Other bands on the bill include the Faceless, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Goatwhore, Exhumed and Cerebral Bore. Check out all the dates here.
