Well, it’s almost that time of year again. If you haven’t done so already, now is the time to start the, “I gotta lose 20lbs before summer” count down. It’s not too late, but if you haven’t started working on your beach body yet, you’re already kinda late in the game.

I myself love the beach. Yes, the ocean is super tranquil and great for those meditative don't wanna be bothered days, but let’s be very clear; I am not a fan of 100ft waves, man eating sharks, beach trash nor beach bums, but, I’ve always loved surfers. The hair. The tan. The body. Mmmm. The way they glide effortlessly along the waves, almost as if they were in flight, without a care in the world. I’d sit and watch them for hours wishing I had the skill to execute something as cool as that.

Luckily, I’ve found just the instrument that will allow me to take on such an ambitious feat. If you plan on spending lots of time this summer at Lake Lawtonka, or any other amazing Oklahoma body of water, then boy do I have the “toy” for you.

A company called Onean created a motorized electric surfboard powerful enough to take on the fiercest ocean, but also gentle enough to cruise the laziest of lakes. Their motorized electric surfboard is great for both the adrenaline junkie, the adventurous (yet very responsible) kid and everyone in between.

Depending on your need for speed, there are two different versions for you to choose. The Carver, which is used for high speed “traditional” style surfing and The Manta, which is used for cruising at a slower more relaxed pace.

For all you gear heads, the surfboard has a “4400W dual-core brush-less electric motor mated to a high-efficiency axial water pump at the rear.” It also has a price tag of about $3800.

Companies selling electric surfboards actually run the gamut, so whichever one you choose to go with will almost certainly depend on your level of expertise, your style preference and your need for speed.

And for all you "20lbs to-goers"....you got time. Let's get on it doggone it! Because regardless of whatever lame explanation you conjure up, there's absolutely NO excuse for why you won't be having the time of your life with all your sexiest friends on the lake (or beach) this summer.
