We hope that the Super Smash Bros. stages are stocked with cherries, because Pac-Man is coming to get his waka-waka on.

It was revealed that Pac-Man, the classic Namco arcade character, would be joining the Super Smash Bros. roster. This brings the current fight roster to 33 characters (with Mii Fighters counting as one selectable character).

As you can see from the trailer above, a bunch of classic console stars are featured in battle before the Pac shows up in his signature red boots and orange gloves from his 3D days. He can convert to his original 2D form to try to devour his opponents and can seemingly summon a bunch of 8-bit sprites to use in battle. What's even cooler is that there's a classic Pac-Man stage complete with the ghosts. We'd love to smash on that.

Expect to see Super Smash Bros. on 3DS on Oct. 3 and on Wii U in Holiday 2014.
