Pre-order cards released by Fred Meyer, a superstore chain throughout the Midwest, have a very believable release date for the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. printed on them.

Polygon reports that the Fred Meyer chain has started handing out pre-order cards for Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U that say the game will be launching on Nov. 21. For those who do not know, superstores such as Walmart, Target and Fred Meyer have cards you can pick up at their video game/electronics departments which you bring to the register and use to pre-order your upcoming game.

For the past few months, we have been going crazy trying to find out Super Smash Bros' Wii U release date. Nintendo of America has remained adamant about a Holiday 2014 launch, and Fred Meyer's date coincides with this window -- Nov. 21 is one week before Black Friday, which is an optimal time for Smash to be out on the market. If Nintendo were to release a Super Smash Bros/Wii U bundle, they could make a killing on Black Friday. While we usually ask our readers to take a grain of salt when it comes to game info leaked by a retailer's mistakes (especially online), taking the time to print up these cards and physically sending them to each of their locations is a much more solid sign that the Nov. 21 launch date is legit.

Mind you, this is the same exact day that Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are supposed to launch. Could Nintendo be breaking out the big guns for the 3DS and the Wii U at the same time? With Black Friday a week after, we think Nov. 21 is a perfect day to launch two monumental games at the same time.

We're sure Nintendo will do another Nintendo Direct stream soon in order to announce some of Smash's leaked roster and this supposed release date.
