Wild-eyed carnivores recently gathered in Peru to take part in a controversial feline-feasting frenzy in honor of one of their ancestors. Every September, people gather in the streets of La Quebrada to pay homage to Santa Efgenia with a full day of music, dancing and, well, cat meat, for a ceremony appropriately referred to as the Gastronomic Festival of the Cat.

Just when we finally thought that dubstep was mercifully on its way out, a new video comes along that breathes life back into the dance genre. And who do we owe for that? None other than cats, the internet's unofficial mascot. We'll get you for this, cats.

APEril is a six-month-old white handed gibbon ape. Up Chuck is a middle-aged cat. They both live at the Monkey Island Rescue animal sanctuary and, as you can see in this adorable video, they are playmates.

Spangles is a darn cute cat. He has a beautiful shade of gray fur, which makes him a stud in the feline world. But the fact that he has crossed eyes, well…that just instantly hooked us. We can’t help but hysterically laugh at the poor little guy’s expression, because no matter what, Spangles just looks silly.

You guys, Grumpy Cat is definitely real. And she plays. Sort of. When Grumpy Cat "plays" she mostly just scowls at the camera and then hides under things, but still. Grumpy Cat became an internet sensation pretty much as soon as people saw her grumpy face on Reddit. Here's some video and some excellent memes 'Tard' (short for Tartar Sauce) the cat has inspired.

We still can’t quite decide if ‘Gangnam Style’ is hilarious or slightly nightmare-inducing. One thing is for sure though--the mega-hit is straight up addicting, although we’re not exactly sure why.
