Guardians of the Galaxy

Nathan Fillion, who has appeared in director James Gunn's previous films 'Slither' and 'Super,' as well as one of the director's 'PG Porn' shorts, will indeed be making an appearance in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' -- though in a much smaller capacity than you might have assumed.

The past few 'Guardians of the Galaxy' trailers have done well in teasing Marvel's upcoming space opera with a star-studded cast, humor galore and one catchy tune ("Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede). But now's the time to set aside the comedy and go for some goosebump-inducing, explosive and just plain riveting new footage ... with a few jokes thrown in on the side.

We know, we know. We can hardly wait for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' to hit theaters, either, so we'll just have to settle for more TV spots, but here's the good news: we have not just one, but two new TV spots today, and both of them feature a little new footage from the film -- you know, in case you were tired of watching the same trailers over and over again, and you probably are.

Marvel kicked the week off by releasing two new 'Guardians of the Galaxy' posters through Fandango, featuring Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and Gamora. But the set is now complete, as the last two character sheets are here to highlight the team's fearless leader, Star-Lord, and intergalactic barbarian, Drax The Destroyer.

We are less than two months away from the release of Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' which means we're going to start seeing a lot more of these a-holes in TV spots and posters, like this very special new character poster featuring the 'Guardians' sole female butt-kicker, Gamora.

Hands down, Rocket Raccoon and Groot are the heart and soul of Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' Voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, respectively, the fury gunslinger with an attitude and the Ent on steroids are big selling points for this intergalactic adventure, and they two grace the first of a slew of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' posters to come.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' is being post-converted into 3D for its upcoming August release, and will be shown in the IMAX format as well -- which is standard operating procedure for tentpole titles these days. But director James Gunn is working on both transfers, and is trying to make the IMAX presentation more engrossing by featuring well-placed shifting aspect ratios.

We theorized that Vin Diesel was secretly cast as Thanos under the guise of Groot, but, now 'Guardians' director James Gunn says that's not true and we're right back to square one. During the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' fan Q&A on Facebook yesterday, one fan did God's work and asked Gunn straight up who would be playing Thanos.

It's time to start getting really excited for 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' While the past two months have brought us superhero movies like 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' and 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' (with varying results), we mustn't forget that there's still a big one on the way in Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and what better way to remind yourself of this summer's other entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with this fantastic new trailer.

Yesterday, we got a peek at a new poster and photos from Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' as well as a brand new teaser to get you pumped for the release of the new trailer, which drops on Monday. And now Marvel has released yet another teaser, and in the words of Rocket Raccoon himself: "Oh yeah!"

We're pretty much pre-sold on 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' and the new poster and handful of behind-the-scenes images and trailer teaser aren't going to change our mind much in either direction.

Several months ago we learned that Stan Lee would not be making a cameo in 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' making it the first Marvel Studios film in which the legendary comic book creator wouldn't be seen -- but now comes word that Lee will be making his traditional cameo appearance after all.
