Sometimes you just need to take a break from it all. Speaking for myself, I can get so busy preparing for the holidays I never get around to actually celebrating or enjoying it. So exactly how does one slow down, kick back, relax & attempt to remain in the Christmas spirit?
Seems “holiday cheer” may be a misnomer, at least according to a new survey. Consumer Reports polled 1,013 adults, revealing that 90 percent of us have at least one thing to complain about the holidays, and 15 percent hate that they’re expected to be nice.
For many of us, Thanksgiving means gathering with family and enjoying time-tested recipes — Dad’s famous mashed potatoes, your brother’s homemade cranberry sauce, or Grandma’s pumpkin pie.
While the food itself may be wonderful, there’s a psychological component to eating the same things every year that benefits the human mind.
With Thanksgiving just around the turn & we prepare for our annual feast, it's only appropriate that we take a moment to recognize the majestic turkey & all it's sacrifices. I love this time of year and Thanksgiving is the perfect kick off to the holiday season! My mouth is already watering with carnivorous delight just thinking about the upcoming turkey day dinner. Over the years I've baked, roasted, smoked, BBQ & fried em' all with various results. Always delicious but some more so than others.
It's that time of year again, Thanksgiving! I've already fried one turkey & before it's over I'm sure I'll end up frying several more for friends, family & for myself. I love turkey, Thanksgiving & everything that goes with it. While most holidays have their share of music, movies & traditions, at first glance Thanksgiving seems to lack in the way of entertainment when compared to other holidays. That's just not true.
The holidays can be expensive, and this year 21 percent of Americans plan to get a second job to help pay for all the gifts and travel costs that go with the season.
