Jeff Bridges really, really, really wants to help you sleep. The 'Seventh Son' star recently popped up during the Super Bowl, touting, well, something during a somewhat strange and somewhat soothing commercial spot. Turns out, Bridges is actually selling what it looks like he's selling: sleep. Wait, what?

At one point during this interview, Jeff Bridges leaned back in his chair, laughed, then broke into an impression of Jeffrey Lebowski, his character from 'The Big Lebowski' who is also famously known as The Dude. It was at this moment that I decided that the trip from New York City to San Diego for Comic-Con was worth it.

On Thursday afternoon at San Diego Comic-Con, Jeff Bridges was on hand to promote his newest film, 'The Giver.' During the panel, Bridges -- as he's wont to do and what makes him Jeff Bridges -- went off on long and unrelated digressions. Here are our six favorite digression topics. (The Dude was brought up many, many times and he's not on this list because that was very expected.)

The Weinstein Co. failed miserably with their last adaptation of a young-adult book franchise, 'Vampire Academy,' but perhaps they can turn it around with a beloved classic. The first 'The Giver' trailer has debuted online, giving us a look at a different futuristic dystopia, because we don't have enough of those already.

Though Ryan Reynolds doesn't sing the theme song, 'R.I.P.D.' looks so much like 'Men in Black' it could almost be a remake. The latest featurette does look funny, but we wonder if the pitch was "What if the Men in Black were Ghostbusters?"

This 'R.I.P.D.' trailer certainly seems to indicate that the supernatural buddy cop film is a lot like 'Men in Black' with a cranky Jeff Bridges standing in for a cranky Tommy Lee Jones and a wise-ass Ryan Reynolds filling in for a wise-ass Will Smith.
