Hundreds of children have grown up watching LeVar Burton on the PBS show 'Reading Rainbow' and learned to love reading, thanks to Burton's positive teachings. He implored children all across America to read and use their imagination, as it would take them to the heights of the moon and to new countries across the sea.
We have to commend YouTuber Isosine for hearing the similarities between Korn's 'Coming Undone' and Taylor Swift's 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.' He also deserves credit for being maybe the only person who would listen to both of those songs. Good job.
Some of the best 2012 movie trailers are counted legitimately among the year's most talked about moments -- they're right up there with the Presidential Election! They're the perfect combinations of dramatic music, the most visually arresting scenes and, of course, thrilling dialogue; and for some, like the 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and 'Prometheus' trailers, we were more pumped by the preview footage than the actual films themselves.

Thanks to the opening night of 'The Hobbit' being only a few weeks a way, the internet is being inundated with Tolkien spoofs. This particularly giggle-worthy mash-up combines the colorful animation of 'My Little Pony' with the epic drama of 'Lord of the Rings.'
We're huge fans of music mashups, because there are tons of different types. Presidential versions and ones involving staplers top our list as favorites so far. There's also that Leo Dicaprio and 'My Little Pony' video that may or may not have weird-ed us out for a while. Well, recently we discovered another mashup artist who's upping the game by recreating a famous piece by composer and pianist Edvard Grieg. (Chances are you'll recognize the tune.)
The geekosphere was rocked today with the announcement that Disney has purchased Lucasfilm, the home of 'Star Wars,' for $4 billion. If that wasn't enough to inspire "Goofy shot first" jokes, Disney also announced plans to release a new 'Star Wars' movie in 2015 which will not be written or directed by George Lucas. (The creator fans love to hate will stay on in a creative consultant capacity.)
