Two friends decided to do a social experiment with the online dating app for mobile devices, Tinder. The experiment had a woman and a man post their picture on the dating app and then they stuck the two in a fat suit when it was time to meet the dates.
We may think of the older generation as being less internet-savvy, but when it comes to love, that’s not entirely true — in fact, recent research indicates people over the age of 60 are the fastest growing demographic using online dating sites.
Online dating has gotten so common now that some estimates say more than one in five couples meet that way — and while all those extra options are great, a team of psychologists thinks dating sites can warp our expectations and actually make it harder to find that perfect person.
