Thanks to Mother Nature's moodiness the annual Medicine Park Polar Bear Plunge was postponed to this weekend. Event organizers had to make the unfortunate call last Saturday for the safety of all involved.

On Saturday, hundred's lined the shores of Lake Elmer Thomas' Recreation Area defying the elements to take on the Polar Bear Plunge and 5K run, an annual event put on by Ft. Sill's MWR.

I'm the biggest cool pussy I know, I absolutely hate the cool. It can be a 130 outside and I could care less, but when it's 35 I'm the first one to the truck with his hands in the heater. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to jump into a frozen lake or pond, the very ideal has me shivering.

The annual polar bear swim is a worldwide tradition where good intentions turn into looks of absolute horror. It is, after all, frigidly cold water. But hey, it's always good for some hilarious photos of crazy folks being enlightened pretty quickly...
