Hail to the king baby, the Evil Dead is back! Just 9 more days, that's it. I can hardly wait until Friday, April 5th 2013 (04-05-13) that's when the Evil Dead will finally be released, more like unleashed in theaters nationwide! I've been looking forward to this since the rumors broke last year about the reboot of the film. It promises to be an unforgettable hack and slash, blood soaked, gore infested thrill ride!

When it comes to tentpole studio releases, there's a pressure to get the next one made two or three years after the first, simply so the brand is still in people's heads. The best way to get a jump on that is to start prepping the sequel before the first film is released, and because (at least with these films) the script is often the cheapest part, it's no surprise that Disney has already commissioned someone to pen a sequel to 'Oz: The Great and Powerful.'

And the kingdom does look damn good, and most of Oz's adventures in it are pretty entertaining as well.

A fanboy frenzy was set off late last week, when news of a possible 'Evil Dead 4' film came about, thanks to Sam Raimi's remark that he was planning on working on the script this summer with his brother, Ivan. Of course, everyone went nuts and immediately marked down a fourth 'Evil Dead' on their calendars. But now comes the part, predictably, where Raimi rains on our parade with a clarification.

Not only did it kick off the career of one of the great geeks heroes of cinema, it's one of those scrappy no-budget classics that gets over because of the sheer willpower of the director and the ethos that any character can die at any time. It seems like an untouchable classic. But watching the red band trailer for Fede Alvarez's remake 'Evil Dead?' We're sold on this remake.
