In his recent autobiography, Arnold Schwarzenegger describes his part in 'The Last Stand' as "a great, great role." He plays Ray Owens, a former LAPD cop who retired to his hometown in Arizona after his partner got crippled in a botched drug raid. Now the local sheriff, he and a few bumbling deputies are all that stands between the Mexican border and a ruthless drug kingpin. "The sheriff knows if he succeeds," Schwarzenegger writes, "it will mean everything to the town. His reputation is on the line. Is he really over the hill or can he do it?"

Admit it, no matter how silly 'The Last Stand' looks, a little smile comes across your face when thinking about Arnold Schwarzenegger play hero in an action movie once again. Besides, it doesn't appear to be taking itself too seriously, and it wasn't directed by a hack but the exciting Korean talent Kim Jee-Woon.

To get you further pumped for the flick, opening in a few short weeks, the first clip has hit the airwaves, featuring features plenty of gunfire, running and an Arnold quip. It's like the '80s all over again!

After a handful of cameos during his time in office, former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has returned to his action roots with a vengeance. He's coming back to the big screen this January with a starring role in 'The Last Stand,' and it looks like he took a page from the Sylvester Stallone playbook in this new trailer and poster.

Get your "I'll be back" jokes ready, because Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly eyeing a major return to the big screen.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Governator is in talks to join 'The Last Stand,' in which he would play a bordertown sheriff who teams with his inexperienced staff to hunt down a Mexico-bound cartel leader.

The film is being directed by Jee-woon Kim ('The Good, The Bad, The Weird'), and is tentatively set to begin shooting in late August. Sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that negotiations are moving along, though the deal could still fall apart over money.
