The 2016 summer box office hit another speed bump this week as two major releases — a sequel and a potential franchise-starter — opened to disappointing numbers. However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Despite the poor starts for Warcraft and Now You See Me 2, The Conjuring 2 opened at number one with the kind of debut that proves modestly budgeted horror movies with R ratings still have a place in the blockbuster months.

The summer movie season is about a month away, kicking off with Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War and continuing through August with Suicide Squad. There are other, non-superhero movies hitting theaters this summer, if you can believe it, and we have some new photos from those and several of this year’s other blockbuster offerings. You’re probably already properly excited for a lot of these movies thanks to their trailers, but if you’re eager for another sneak peek, these photos should do the trick.

Though the film may have blinked when 'Star Wars: Episode 7' took its release date, Duncan Jones' 'Warcraft' has at least one leg up over the new 'Star Wars' film: It actually has a cast. Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Dominic Cooper, Travis Fimmel, Toby Kebbel, and Rob Kazinsky have all signed on for the film.

Duncan Jones' 'Warcraft' was originally scheduled for release on December 18, 2015, which it called before 'Star Wars: Episode 7' announced when it would be hitting theaters (many thought the new 'Star Wars' would go with mid-May as with all the previous films). But now that 'Episode 7' has picked the same weekend, 'Warcraft' blinked and has moved to March 11, 2016.

Over the weekend, director Duncan Jones paid a visit to BlizzCon 2013 and revealed some concept art from his upcoming 'Warcraft' film to a room full of players and fans. The director also divulged a few details about the plot and casting of this ambitious project, based on the popular online roleplaying game. With 'Warcraft' slowly but surely coming together for a Winter 2015 release, it's good to hear that one of the four leads has been cast, and that the Duncan Jones-helmed film is going with an outside-the-box choice. Travis Fimmel, who's best known for the History Channel series 'Vikings,' is in talks to play the lead.
