While Thanos won't pop up in 'Avengers 2,' according to Marvel's Kevin Feige, we will get to see him in 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' At Comic-Con, the Marvel Studios president and producer told us there will be a shot of him replicating that iconic image of the Mad Titan lounging on his throne, and now the first image has leaked out.

UPDATE: Marvel just released an image of Thanos in hi-res!

One sneaky Marvel fan attending an early 'Guardians of the Galaxy' screening snapped a photo of Thanos as he appears in James Gunn's superhero space opera, and it does not disappoint. Now just imagine Josh Brolin's voice booming out from those vocal chords.

During an interview with Feige at Comic-Con, as he spoke to a small group of press, he told us that Thanos is "not just a vocal performance. It’s a facial performance, like Mark Ruffalo with Hulk," which probably explains why the ultimate villain looks so menacing.

While it's thrilling to finally see Thanos fully realized on-screen, as opposed to that brief profile shot we got in the 'Avengers' post-credits scene (where, by the way, he was portrayed by a completely different actor), he won't be a major focus of the film. Showing up in a few scenes in both physical and Emperor Palpatine-style hologram forms, he'll be more of the puppet master pulling the strings of the main antagonists of 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' his righthand man Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and his deadly protege Nebula (Karen Gillan).

As we previously reported, Feige said, "I think Thanos does what he wants and shows up when he wants to, and I’m not gonna tell him otherwise." And with 'Avengers 3' projected for a 2018 (or so) release, we might not see him again for a while. But here's hoping!

'Guardians of the Galaxy' is in theaters now, so get your tickets and see Thanos.
