With the 'Equalizer' trailer dropping soon, we'll finally get to see Denzel Washington in action as a retired government official turned vigilante -- not to mention Chloe Moretz as a prostitute (though in her case, we don't mean that kind of action). But before then, new photos from the film, based on the classic '80s TV series of the same name, give us a peek at what's in store.

USA Today debuted our latest look at 'The Equalizer,' which features Washington bringing Robert McCall to life -- the former black ops commando fakes his death in order to stay under his enemies' radars, but, as director Antoine Fugua says, "the monster comes out" of retirement to save a helpless young prostitute from Russian gangsters. "[Washington's] hand-to-hand work is pretty nasty," said Fugua. "We used what was around him. You'd be surprised what he can do with a corkscrew. You'll never open a bottle of wine the same way again."

We can't wait to preview some of these skills in the forthcoming 'Equalizer' trailer, considering Washington -- who's 59, by the way -- performed many of his own stunts. Not to mention the fact that Sony is so confident in the final product that they've already placed 'The Equalizer 2' into development. Overly confident, perhaps? We'll see.

UPDATE: We've added additional hi-res photos from 'The Equalizer,' shown below.

'The Equalizer' also stars Marton Csokas, David Harbour, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo, and is set for release on September 26.
