After a handful of cameos during his time in office, former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has returned to his action roots with a vengeance. He's coming back to the big screen this January with a starring role in 'The Last Stand,' and it looks like he took a page from the Sylvester Stallone playbook in this new trailer and poster.

And with this poster, which really doesn't look like any poster Schwarzenegger's had before, you get the sense of the retro appeal for something that never actually existed, which is similar to what Stallone did in both 'Rocky Balboa' and 'Rambo.'

And then there's this trailer, which sells itself as similar to Clint Eastwood's 'The Gauntlet' in which a sheriff and a handful of people in his town stand up against a terrible drug kingpin who's trying to cross the border after escaping federal custody. Working with a great Korean director Kim Jee-woon ('The Good, the Bad, the Weird,' 'I Saw the Devil') and with a stronger supporting cast than normal (it used to be that Arnold either worked alone, or everyone else got killed trying to help), this could deliver the same sort of kicks that came with Stallone's 'Rambo.' We'll know for sure when the film hits theaters January 18. Here's that trailer:
