A short video that reveals the truth about why marijuana is illegal. The laws that are currently in place predate any serious substance abuse concerns. So why was marijuana made illegal? It has more to do with economics and control than public health.

I'm not some pothead pushing for the legalization of marijuana. As a matter of fact I don't even use it, it's just not my thing. However, I do see just how ridiculous the current laws are and how damaging they've been to our country. We have people that will never see the outside of a jail cell and their only crime was using, growing or selling marijuana. I just posted a story late last week about a guy who's serving life without parole for marijuana, read the article here. That's just crazy!

The laws in place are meant to protect big business, not people. So far Colorado and Washington have fully legalized marijuana and it looks like Alaska and Oregon are planning to do the same. Not just for medical, recreational use as well. In Oklahoma we're still trying to get legislators to legalize medical marijuana and cannabis oils. It's a battle with high profit pharmaceutical companies and a state government that's filling it's coffers with fist fulls of cash by keeping current legislation in place.
