While you may have been taught that Saint Patrick once chased all the snakes out of Ireland with his faith, it's totally a sham. You see, there were never any snakes in Ireland to begin with. And that's not uncommon for some island nations. New Zealand, Iceland, Greenland, Hawaii, and countless others have no indigenous snakes. Of course England and Scotland does, but they were accidentally introduced.

As you'll see, he started his journey as a slave, and eventually, martyred into the history books as a great person whose name wasn't even Patrick.
