Whether you believe the reports of clown sightings across the nation, blame them on mass hysteria or chalk them up to a promotional frenzy for upcoming Halloween movies or haunted housed, or even the upcoming release of the remake of Stephen King's "IT", you have to admit, we have been inundated lately with reports of eerie, threatening clown sightings.

It's a prank being seen all around the country...

Clowns walking the streets late at night, some even trying to lure kids into the woods by offering them candy or money.

No clowning around. Reports of “killer clowns” terrorizing and scaring people have been spreading across the country; now people in more than 10 states have reported sightings. Just last Friday, a report was filed in Reading, OH where a clown reportedly made veiled threats to students while attacking a woman on her front porch.

I should just kill you now,” the clown reportedly told the victim, before adding, “Some students and teachers would wish they were never born at the Jr. and Sr. High School today.” The unsocial Pennyworth was then startled by a nearby noise and released his victim before running off.

There was even what turned out to be a false report of a man dressed as a clown being shot by police in Ft. Wayne, IN, which spread like wildfire across the internet, before being debunked. Now the hysteria has spread to Texas. Reports of clown sightings in Amarillo last week, and now, Copperas Cove, TX, where authorities report that they, along with school officials have invested a report of a clown seen standing near the train tracks and other areas around Copperas Canyon High School.

According to officials in the Copperas Cove Independent School District, student and staff members at the high school were moved indoors when a clown was reportedly seen on the railroad tracks across from the school Wednesday. The district stated that due to the recent national reports on clowns threatening harm, they took all precautions to keep students and personnel safe.

The Copperas Cove Police Department said there was no evidence of a clown or any other threat in the area near school. The school district added that they will continue to monitor the situation, and will continue working with the Copperas Cove Police.
