Looking back, three years later, pictures from the May 20th Moore F5 aftermath still look unreal.

That entire week was classified as 'high risk' for severe weather. A very large weather system had been dropping massive storms over the previous few days, stretching from Texas to North Dakota. In fact, this system dropped five different tornadoes on Central Oklahoma the day before the F5. As they didn't reach the same level of destruction, those are often not remembered.

The May 20th F5, on a short 14 mile path between Newcastle and Lake Stanley Draper, took the lives of 24 people, destroyed countless homes and two elementary schools.
