No one can ever accuse Mark Tremonti of being an underachiever, as the guitarist has always had a full plate juggling two successful bands in Alter Bridge and Creed. However, back in 2012, he took things to a whole new level releasing the debut album ‘All I Was,’ from his self titled project, Tremonti, which saw him adding the role of frontman to his resume.

While Tremonti started off as a solo project, it has morphed into a full-fledged band with Mark surrounding himself with some of rock’s best. Boasting Eric Friedman on rhythm guitar, Garrett Whitlock on drums and Wolfgang Van Halen on bass. Recently, Tremonti served as one of the hardest hitting bands aboard ShipRocked in 2014.

While on ShipRocked, Mark Tremonti and Co. sat down with Loudwire to discuss the origins of the band, early inspirations and more. Check out Part 1 of the interview above and stay tuned for Part 2.
