Unlocking the Truth are just entering their teen years, but have already turned a lot of heads with their metal skills. In just a short amount of time, these youngsters have already played Coachella, South by Southwest and Warped Tour and opened for the likes of Guns N' Roses, Motorhead and Queens of the Stone Age. But which rockers influenced their style of play? The trio tells us in the video above.

Disturbed should be plenty happy, as two of the Unlocking the Truth members cite a pair of Disturbed players for directly impacting their style of play. Bassist Alec Atkins chooses a well-known bass icon who brings plenty of funk to a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act. And drummer Jarad Dawkins also cites a stickman whose credits include albums from Frank Zappa, Sting, Joni Mitchell and Megadeth. Watch the video above as they discuss their influences.

The band currently has a PledgeMusic page where you can pre-order their new EP. Check it out here. In the interim, look for Unlocking the Truth returning to their road. After an appearance at South By Southwest in Austin, the group will play some scattered dates in May and June. See their itinerary here.
