Chevelle can indeed “Feel the power of a warrior” as their extended stay atop the active rock charts has been brought to an end by the battle anthem ‘A Warrior’s Call’ from Danish metal quartet Volbeat.

After spending several weeks climbing up Billboard’s Active Rock chart, Volbeat were finally able to end Chevelle’s 13-week habitation of the top spot. ‘A Warriors Call’ swapped places with ‘Face to the Floor’ on the national airplay chart, marking the first No. 1 hit for Volbeat.

“I’m really honored that ‘A Warrior’s Call’ has reached No. 1 on America’s Active Rock Radio chart!” exclaimed Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen. “We’re the first Danish band to achieve that, and with a song written for boxing champ Mikkel Kessler. Going No. 1 and topping acts like Foo Fighters and Nickelback, we never dared to believe! Volbeat would like to thank Universal Republic, all the radio stations, listeners and fans for their support!”

‘A Warrior’s Call’ is the second single from the band’s fourth album ‘Beyond Hell/Above Heaven’ — the first single ‘Fallen’ performed well but peaked at No. 11. Volbeat are currently touring North America with Megadeth, Motorhead, and Lacuna Coil as part of Gigantour, which comes to an end in early March.
