The new album from Volbeat 'Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies' is due to be released on Tuesday, April 9th 2013 (04-09-13) Several different versions of the new disk will be available including the standard, deluxe and limited editions. Each offer their own bonuses and extras in the way of promotional items, additional tracks and Volbeat swag. Visit their official site for all the details.

Today (03-20-13) the band released the 1st official single off the new album 'The Hangman's Body Count'. If you were at the show a few weeks ago in OKC at the Diamond Ballroom we got to see Volbeat perform it live along with 'Lola Montez' and their cover of Young The Giant's 'My Body' which will also be included on 'Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies'.  If you haven't already seen them, check out the photos and our review of Volbeat's show here! Also, prior to the concert we had an interview with frontman Michael Poulsen, click here to listen.

New to Volbeat, Mr. Rob Caggiano formally of Anthrax has become a full time axe slingin' member of the band! He was originally brought in to help produce the new album, and as a guest guitar player on some of the tracks. The chemistry was right and after working together on the project he was asked to join the band, according to Michael Poulsen. He discusses this in our interview, along with the album's theme and sound. Caggiano brings a lot to  Volbeat creatively and offers a whole new level of dynamic guitar playing that really fills out the sound. Take a listen to 'The Hangman's Body Count' the 1st single off 'Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies' and you'll hear the impact of Poulsen and Caggiano playing together yourself.

I can't wait to hear the rest of the album! We now have 2 new songs from Volbeat to help tide us over until April. "What's the second song?" It was released last week as a music video 'Cape Of Our Hero'. Click here to watch it! If you missed them in Oklahoma City we should be seeing them back in the area late Summer, early Fall in OKC, Tulsa or back in the Metro-Plex. Or at least I'm hoping so. As good as they are on disk, they're even better live!
