Volbeat are currently tearing up the road with Five Finger Death Punch, Hellyeah and Nothing More. The Danish rockers are just about halfway through the outing, which will be their last U.S. dates before they return to the studio to record their follow-up to ‘Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies.’

In a recent interview with Soundcrave magazine, Rob Caggiano discussed the band’s recording plan after they get off the road. The Volbeat guitarist said, “We have been floating around some ideas. We will probably go back to the studio next year maybe in August.” He added that the band is going to enjoy some “much-needed down time” over the holidays after the band wraps their six-date U.K. run in November.

So, while it looks like the band won’t start any serious sessions before 2015, drummer Jon Larsen recently said, “I think Michael [Poulsen], of course, is already starting. He’s already adding stuff and pieces. He’s already thinking about artwork, titles, songs … he’s already way ahead of that.” He added the band is going to lock themselves in the rehearsal room and “try to come up with some new stuff.”

Meanhile Caggiano is going to use some downtime from Volbeat to produce an album by funnyman Jim Breuer. The guitarist called the comedian “one of the funniest guys of all time.”
