A couple of weeks ago, while the Saints were pounding the Colts on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the network had a cut away to the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter, and there appears to be a flash zoom across the sky while the cameras were rolling. Viewed in real-time, it’s hard to see much more than something flashing across the screen. But a frame-by-frame scrutiny of the video reveals a rod-shaped object topped with brightly lit dots.

While much of this is up for debate, these rod-shaped UFO sightings are not uncommon. Many have reported seeing the same type image which allegedly was over the Cresent City on Sunday Oct. 23rd in other areas of the country. Many UFO enthusiasts have reportedly snapped photos very similar to the ones the NBC cameras caught while in the French Quarter.

On the other hand, those that question these type images often say that insects are responsible for such “sightings” and/or “images.” “I think these are insects that got caught in that interlaced video as they’re flying through with a wing beat frequency, and the frames are being captured at a frequency… that causes that look,” insisted Marc Dantonio, chief photo and video analyst for the Mutual UFO Network.

In my opinion, being that I was at his game and witnessed first-hand the beating the Colts took, I think it may have been Payton Manning trying to escape the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. While the cameras were rolling in the Quarter, I say Manning was trying to make a quick get-away after seeing the beating his team was taking on the field. In any case, watch the video below, and you decide.
