A Perfect Circle have shared a 2D clip of “TalkTalk,” the third single off their first album in 14 years, Eat the Elephant. The video, which can be viewed above, is taken from the companion film to the album which was directed by Steven Sebring.

The band linked up with Sebring, a Sundance award-winning filmmaker who directed Horses: Patti Smith and Her Band and Dream of Life, for a unique addition to the deluxe box set offering of Eat the Elephant. Taking a prism, which comes with the set, and placing it on a smartphone, a holographic accompaniment to the album is generated in the form of a film which runs for the duration of the album.

“It is very much a combined experience of the tactile and the visual," says singer Maynard James Keenan in an interview with Billboard about the hologram film. “I come from an era where the physical pieces were something that you cherished. Double-gate foldout with the big images, the interaction of putting vinyl on a turntable I think is lost in the digital age...something like this brings back that visual excitement for people.”

The 58-minute hologram unfolds through the eyes of a young girl over the 12-song album arc. The band, led by Keenan and guitarist/bassist Billy Howerdel, had "almost zero" input into which footage would be used in the film.

“Having Maynard and Billy’s trust to create this for A Perfect Circle was a true artist’s dream,” says Sebring. “Their 14-year break allowed technology to catch up with their groundbreaking music and gave me the chance to apply new ideas of dimensional capture to this stunning album.”

Eat The Elephant debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart and topped the Rock, Independent and Alternative Album charts. The box set can be ordered via this location.

A Perfect Circle is in the midst of their first leg of U.S. tour dates in support of the record, having recently played Rock on the Range and Northern Invasion. The band heads to Europe next month for their first extensive tour of the continent since 2004. The full list of tour dates can be found here.
