Here's more proof that the AC/DC bug infects all ages and subgenres of rock and metal. On September 2, Godsmack burst into a cover of "Highway to Hell" and Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers joined them onstage.

The magic moment went down at the Northwest Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York. While Godsmack frontman Sully Erna traded in some of the higher-pitched vocals for lower notes that still complimented the tune, he delivered the song with the sheer enthusiasm of a lifelong fan. And Myers boosted the energy level with some lead playing that would've done Angus proud.

In related news, Erna recently ranked AC/DC's Back in Black as one of the 10 albums that changed his life. "This was a huge record for me," he told Metal Hammer. "They were loud, they were awesome, they were tight and they were basic... but they had really catchy songs. It was just a powerful record. Even the artwork was simple. There was nothing to it. It was just pure rock music."

Godsmack and Shinedown will play a second North American leg of their co-headlining tour, starting September 21 in Greenville, South Carolina and running through October 11 in Portland, Oregon. The bands started touring together in July. Red Sun Rising and Like a Storm have been sharing opening act duties. Asking Alexandria will take their place for the fall concerts.

Godsmack's seventh album, the humbly titled When Legends Rise, came out April 27 and was the follow-up to 2014's 1000hp.
