Green Day's campaign in support of their chart-topping new album, Revolution Radio, has been impressive. The band has made a number of television appearances and the punk rockers were invited to kick off Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series, performing a show in New York City's Central Park yesterday morning (May 19).

"It's been a long strange trip. It's been almost 30 years or something like that, good lord," began Billie Joe Armstrong during the interview portion of the show (video below) before launching into the set. "We're on this new tour right nor for Revolution Radio and it's been the best — I can't think of a better time to be in Green Day right now." When asked about the inspiration behind the current single, "Still Breathing," the frontman added, "All things considered, sometimes you've just got to count your blessings, you know? Then just kind of think about what it's like to just be alive and sometimes that's good enough."

Green Day's set spanned five songs (in order of appearance per Setlist.fm): "Know Your Enemy," "Still Breathing," "Basket Case," "Revolution Radio" (not televised) and "Youngblood" (not televised). Footage can be seen at the top of the page as well as at the bottom of the post.

The punk icons will continue to promote Revolution Radio on tour with another U.S. trek slated to begin on Aug. 1. Catfish and the Bottlemen will serve as the supporting act throughout the entire run, which concludes on Sept. 13. For a list of all stops, check our 2017 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
