The internet and the world at large may have been somewhat preoccupied last night with a little ol' AMC series finale (10.3 million viewers, bitch!), but thankfully Showtime is a good sport with its 'Homeland' season 3 and 'Masters of Sex' premieres. While the latter had earlier made its way online, the entirety of 'Homeland' season 3 premiere "Tin Man Is Down" has found its way on demand for those in need of a post-'Breaking Bad' high.

Picking up some time after the events of season 2 finale "The Choice," season 3 premiere "Tin Man Is Down" treated us to Carrie and Saul's struggles to save face with the CIA in the wake of the attack, while the world's most wanted terrorist Nicholas Brody remains at large. However impossible the task of going up against the 'Breaking Bad' finale, however, Showtime's Emmy darling still managed to up its overall viewership from the season 2 premiere last year with 1.9 million viewers, admittedly shy of the season 2 high of 2.3.

Overall, ‘Homeland’ season 3 picks up during “the aftermath of the terror attack that decimated the US intelligence apparatus and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist, Nick Brody. As Carrie and Saul begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they will be swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody.”

Along with the additions of ‘Iron Man‘ star Shaun Toub, Martin Donovan, Tracy Letts, Joanna Merlin, Nazanin Boniadi, Amy Morton, Lawrence Clayton, Sam Underwood, Gary Wilmes and ‘Game of Thrones‘ season 4 star Pedro Pascal, season 3 of ‘Homeland’ will see David Marciano (Virgil) and Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) stepping down as series regulars to take reduced roles, while Morena Baccarin will reprise her series regular role as Jessica Brody in spite of her husband’s absence.

Take a breather from the 'Breaking Bad' finale hype, and check out the 'Homeland' season 3 premiere, "Tin Man Is Down," above, telling us what you think in the comments! Will the new season of 'Homeland' fill the void for explosive drama on our Sunday nights?
