Weezer shows are a blast and during a performance Sunday night in Orange County, Calif., the band made the festivities a family affair. In the midst of the band's hits filled performance at The Observatory, Rivers Cuomo invited his father Frank to join the band onstage (watch above).

"Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in the history of the universe, please give a welcome to the Weezer stage, my dad, Frank Cuomo," stated the vocalist to the crowd. As the elder Cuomo made his way to the stage, a few stagehands brought out a special drumkit for Frank to play as the band delivered their recent hit single "Back to the Shack." The proud papa then greeted his son by raising grabbing his son's hand and raising it to the sky while chants of "Frank, Frank, Frank" rang out.

To mark the occasion, Cuomo changed the lyrics of the song from "Maybe Pat should play the lead guitar and I should play the drums" to "Maybe I should play the lead guitar and my dad should play the drums." You can see fan-shot footage of the performance in the video above.

"Back to the Shack" is featured on Weezer's Everything Will Be Alright in the End album. The group is in the midst of promoting the disc on tour and you can find them this week playing a free show as part of the NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Indianapolis, Ind. on April 3. After that, there's a nice break in the schedule until June when the band plays a number of shows, including a headlining spot at the inaugural Loudwire Music Festival on June. 26.
