Having scored the first number one album in his long, storied, ECCENTRIC career along with 8 viral videos in a weeks time, "Weird Al" Yankovic has had a big year. And there's a movement underway that could make it even BIGGER. There's currently a petition posted on Change.org, asking that "Weird Al" headline this year's Super Bowl halftime show.  And last I checked, it had close to 70,000 signatures (present company included).

So, what would it be like if Weird Al did get the gig?  Well, the petition floats this idea:  Have the people whose songs Al is parodying actually join him onstage. There would be a lot of enticing options. His new album, "Mandatory Fun", parodies Pharrell, Lorde, Iggy Azalea, Imagine Dragons and Robin Thicke.  You could also call in some of his classics, like "Amish Paradise" with Coolio or "Like a Surgeon" with Madonna. The theatrics alone would be a comical, welcome change, while it would definitely broaden the audience of half-time, even possibly holding some of the viewers that typically would not hang around for the half-time show.
